FAQ

FAQ

1. What can I expect from your training program?

a. I invite you to watch my Facebook and Instagram videos to obtain a good idea of what you can expect and what my training entails. I work with my clients together, as a team. It is very important that my clients join the partnership with an accurate understanding and expectation. I am very transparent and I show all of my work to provide clients with an accurate idea of how I will train your dog and the results that you can expect.

2. Do you use positive reinforcement?

a. Absolutely! I use positive reinforcement throughout the majority of our training. Positive reinforcement is a crucial component of dog training. It works well for teaching new behaviors and rewarding behaviors that owners want to see more of. However, it has its limitations – you cannot stop unwanted behaviors with positive reinforcement only.

3. Do you use prong collars?

a. Prong collars are great training tools. They often have a horrible reputation because of how they look and are often misused. I assure you that while I sometimes use prong collars, I use them properly – in the safest and gentlest ways – to communicate. I will never use any tool without explaining why I think it’s the best option for your dog.

4. What can you guarantee?

a. Honesty, integrity, and communication are of the upmost importance to BarNone K9 and I guarantee to provide them all. I can assure to give each client 100% effort in reaching specific goals. There are many variables that come into play when training dogs. While I can only control so many of the variables, specific outcomes vary based on outside factors. If you are on board with my training programs, there is a very likely chance that I will exceed your expectations.

5. Can my dog become “untrained?”

a. Dogs are learning 24/7, whether they are learning good or bad. If desired behaviors are not reinforced or if you do not properly communicate after undesired behaviors, there is a good chance that your dog will begin to regress. I cannot place blame for regression on any dog. Instead, it is usually a lack of clear communication and consistency from the owner.

6. Do you always take pictures and videos during training sessions?

a. Yes, I always try to take as many videos and pictures as I can in order to document the training. I only publish the non-commercial videos for educational and informative purposes and provide them to the public 100% free of charge.
